June 10, 2007: Weekly Race @ CCR
June 10th was another weekly race after the June
3rd rainout. A dry track would find Dan finishing
3rd in his heat. He would start 10th in the
feature, which would turn out to be a dry-slick
track top to bottom. He would eventually work his
way to the front and challenge for the lead on
lap 14 and was side by side underneath Tim Arp
and was about to take the lead when Arp came down
on him and turned him into a tractor tire. Dan
would be sent to the back, and Arp wasn't, big
surprise there, right. He would run one lap
before the car in front of him spun out right in
front of him collecting Dan also. Dan would pull
in on lap 15 not wanting to tear anything else
up. Another disappointing night when he had the
dominating car. Oh well, we'll get em next week.

May 27, 2007: Weekly Race @ CCR
May 27th, 2007 brought better weather but not
better results. Dan and crew would work all
afternoon changing the rear-end housing, which
was possibly bent. Things went well in the heat,
with Dan once again winning by half a track over
Dusty Kraklio. He would start 10th in the feature
and would slowly work his way through traffic to
get up to 4th with about 6 to go. The 15j of Tim
Arp would pass him back with about 4 to go and
would hold on from then on. The 7 of Mike Thomas
won, with the 7 of Ryan Dolan 2nd, the 61 of
Bruce Hanford 3rd, Arp 4th, and Dan 5th. No side
bite was available, and he couldn't get off the
corners very well. Changes will be made and we'll
be back next week! Rain stay away!

May 26, 2007: USMTS Race @ Deer Creek
A rainy May 26 saw Dan and Fam taking a chance
and heading up to Spring Valley, MN for a USMTS
race at Deer Creek. Mother Nature cooperated, and
it was sunny and about 75 degrees. The track, on
the other hand, didn't. It turned out to be dusty
in the heat, with cars in a single line from
start to finish with no passing. Dan would start
7th and end up 7th also. Jason Hughes won it.
From there Dan would have to run a B-Main, in
which he would start 15th in the 22-car field.
The track would be the same, and Dan passed a few
cars to end up 11th in the 15-lapper. We would
have to sit and watch then, since it only took
the top 5 from the two B-Mains. There were 57
A-Modified cars total.

May 20, 2007: CCR Weekly Race
May 20, 2007 brought Dan over to The Cedar County
Fairgrounds for a weekly points race. Things went
well in the heat, with Dan winning it by half a
track over Tim Arp. The A-Main was a different
story. Dan, Arp, and Bruce Hanford would be
battling for the top three spots about five laps
in. Dan eventually pulled away and built up a 1/4-
track lead over the 2nd-place Arp. Arp would
catch Dan with about 8 to go, and the two would
battle it out to the finish, with Dan taking the
lead for a split second on the backstretch on the
final lap. The two would be side-by-side going
into turn 3, with Arp getting off the bottom
better out of 4, and he would go on to win. Dan
was 2nd, Hanford 3rd, Richie Gustin Jr. 4th, and
Ryan Dolan 5th.

May 9, 2007: Davenport WoO Special
May the Ninth would find Dan in Davenport for a
special World of Outlaw event that included open-
wheel modifieds for $750 to win. The night kicked
off well, with Dan starting 3rd in his heat and
finishing second behind USMTS reg Donovan Lodge.
Ryan Dolan would finish 3rd. In the feature
things didn't go so well. Dan had to redraw, and
redrew 11th out of 12. The first lap entering
turn 3 there was a big pileup, and you guessed
it, Dan was in it. Bent the rear-end housing and
broke the trailing arm. There goes the night. I
guess we still need to learn how to draw. ;)
